Bio- Carol Andrews

A lifetime working and playing in the forests of British Columbia, from Haida Gwaii to the Kootenays, has helped craft my deep nature connection. Exploring the relationship between forest ecology and the health benefits of spending time in the forest has motivated me to learn, reflect and share.

  • I have a deep desire to share my passion and knowledge of our natural environment and gifts nature can offer, to support the building of resilient individuals and communities.

  • My skills in collaboration, facilitation, critical thinking, interpersonal communications, and adaptability, developed from my eighteen-year career as an instructor in the School of Environment and Geomatics, Selkirk College, BC.

  • Academic/Professional credentials: BA (Political Science), a BSF (Forestry), MA (Global Change), Registered Professional Forester (Ret.), Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Mentor, and Instructor in Training.

My personal Nature Connection practice has evolved from simply spending time in the forest for work and recreation, to a more contemplative practice, where I open my senses to nature’s sights, sounds, smells, and energy. I slow down, notice the “small things”, and breathe deeply.

Connecting with nature, especially in a forested setting, can increase feelings of well-being. I want to share the grace and beauty of this practice.
